The Bahamas Teachers’ Mentoring Programme facilitated by the Professional Development Section of the Department of Education, offers all first year teachers a comprehensive Ten-Week Mentoring Programme.
This ten-week programme self-paced aspect of the mentoring programme features sessions in which first year teachers gain knowledge of the organization of the Department of Education, policies and protocols, best practices and instructional strategies, classroom management and record keeping skills needed to effectively fulfill their roles as classroom teachers.
