This course serves as an Orientation to the Department of Education, to new hires who may not have had the opportunity to attend the Opening Ceremony of the New Hires Orientation. During this ceremony the leaders of the Ministry of Education & Technical & Vocational Training brought remarks and welcomed New Hires to the Department.  It is intended that ALL new hire have the opportunity to hear the encouragement provided by the Leaders.

The Programme seeks to provide new and beginning teachers with support, guidance, feedback and problem solving strategies, while introducing them to a network,  of colleagues willing to share resources, insights, practices and motivation; for mentors are friends, confidants, and advisors.

To afford maximum benefit from the programme, all participants must engage in a course of professional development. The Department of Education has instituted this program as an essential component of orientation of teachers new to our system; therefore, all new and beginning teachers are expected to participate.
